The Edina Fire Department operates a Fire Prevention Bureau to give people the knowledge and skills they need to lead safer lives.

Led by Fire Marshal Tom Jenson, members of the Bureau review building plans and complete inspections to make sure new construction or remodeling projects meet the Fire Code. In addition, the Bureau often makes classroom visits and meets one-on-one with businesses and homeowners to discuss fire prevention and safety.
