City Gym Murals
The Artist: The murals were created by local artist Robert Ellison using digital photo manipulation. His ability to use contemporary and colorful images and fill them with the illusion of action and movement made them a perfect addition to the otherwise bland gym walls. The original photos for the murals were provided by two Edina Sun-Current photographers, Craig Lassig and John Sherman. Funding: The murals, which cost around $5,000 to create and
install, were a response by the Edina Public Art Committee to a challenge
from the Park & Recreation Department to spruce up the empty gym walls. |
